Caring for and looking after Common Swifts is expensive! The feeder insects (house crickets / crickets) are obtained from a breeding farm, because the quantities required (300–350 kilograms per year!) cannot be sourced in any other way.
X-rays, medication and surgery involve considerable expense.
Public relations work as well as the time-consuming and costly activities to create new nesting sites and preserve existing breeding colonies have to be financed.

Of course we are also glad to accept donations in kind. You will find a list of the items and products currently needed below. Clicking on a product takes you directly to Amazon.de. Naturally, you are free to buy the products from another supplier as well. You do twice as much good if you access your online shop (including Amazon) via Gooding (see right).
If you would like a "confirmation of a donation in kind" (donation receipt), we need the following from you:
- A written statement as to whether the item comes from your private assets or from business assets. As a private individual, a letter with the following wording is sufficient: "I declare that the [name of the item] handed over to Deutsche Gesellschaft für Mauersegler e.V. comes from my private assets."
- The invoice as proof of value.
